I don’t usually share things like this here, but I hope it gives anyone a little bit of hope when going through a tough time. Take care of yourself, both physically and mentally.

There are finally short periods during the day that I forget about the injury. I’m able to go on a few miles of a bike ride and the thing that is sore are my glutes and hamstrings rather than my Achilles. Every part of my life is no longer dictated by the question “will my body let me do that?”

simple things, like empty the dishwasher or get ice from the freezer. It’s tempting to just give in and say “this is forever.” The unbelievable support from @laurentheanimal.bsky.social and family and friends, plus a lot of hard work, has me finally seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

Today is the 4 month anniversary of my Achilles rupture and I’m all up in my feelings about it. 🧵
