I thought for a sec you had a beehive in there and immediately I’m thinking yes fresh honey and comb.

What kinds of things do folks even want to hear these days when it comes to web dev presentations?
Things have changed so much in the past few years. I want to give things that people want.
I can tell you one topic I DON’T want to see, how to use AI to replace any creative, skilled or nuanced process.
Everything but furikake was homemade! Cured my own mackerel (front), did a spicy sesame pickled daikon radish (right), pickled red onions (top) and soy seasoned sea grapes (left). Made sushi rice too but I went too easy on the seasoning so it’s not as flavorful as it should be but I’m getting there!
Pot full of layered raw cabbage, pork belly and mushrooms
Pot full of layers of cooked cabbage, pork belly and mushrooms with broth showing above the surface.
Bowl with layered cabbage and pork belly, mushrooms, boiled egg cut in half, noodles and broth.
Ok I’m really proud of this one. Mille-feuille nabe. Napa cabbage leaves layered with ultra thin pork belly slices cooked with enoki mushrooms and broth. I changed it up a bit with Szechuan broth from my local hot pot place and served with some soba noodles and a ramen egg.
Two pots on a stove, one filled with pork bones and water and the other with canoe-cut beef marrow bones and a melting chunk of beef broth.
It’s an overcast drizzly day precluding a cold front so it’s time to start some soup. On the left, pork bones going for an overnight soak to eventually become tonkatsu ramen broth. On the right, a defrosting chunk of previous beef bone broth simmering with smoked marrow bones for French onion soup.
All hail Pierogi, Lord of Floof!
Meatballs shaped like brains and stuffed with mozzarella
A “brain” slider
Apple cider pull apart bread
Deviled eggs with red bell pepper horns
Buffalo chicken dip
Spinach artichoke dip
Chicken nachos with guacamole
A bunch of us celebrated Halloween last night and I made lots of spooky food! I didnt have a clever name for the apple cider pull apart bread but it was the best new recipe I’ve tried in a while!
Gotta give love again to @bowie.barks.cafe for gifting this to me!

Unbaked pan of enchiladas
Baked pan of enchiladas
Frozen and vacuum sealed enchiladas
I made a huge batch of enchiladas last week using smoked pulled chicken I froze from a prior charity bbq. One pan was frozen and bagged so I can still feed the furs I love despite living separately.
Rack of cooked baby back ribs with wedges of smoked pineapple on a cutting board.
Ribs were perfect to my liking, tender but still with a little chew. The real star here was the smoked pineapple. This weekend I might just split a whole pineapple, dust with cinnamon sugar, and do one half plain, one wrapped in bacon.
Rack of baby back ribs with pineapple wedges laid on top sitting in a pellet smoker.
I saw a video where a guy dipped a whole (peeled) pineapple in bbq sauce and then wrapped a dry rub rack of ribs around it and cooked it in the oven. While visually impressive, I realized the pineapple didn’t contact much of the meat and also why not smoke? So a meat experiment is being conducted.
Musky Husky (an earthy, sandalwood scent)
Clean Yeen (think fresh linen)
Blossom Possum (cherry blossom and yes this is me picking my fav flower)
Floral Fox (jasmine)
Tropical Tortoise (citrus and coconut)
Rose Raccoon (self explanatory, though maybe it needs a hint of durian for that trash stink)
Work has been extra chaos this week and I often take mental breaks by dreaming up restaurant concepts or thinking about new craft ideas. Currently workshopping a (non-food) idea involving themed scents and here’s what I’ve come up with:
I’m only 2 years into the con space and 4~ years in the fandom and the number of uplifting stories like this one I’ve seen from the furry community continue to drive my inclusion.
As promised, links to my panel "From Trash to Treats: Upping Your Cooking Game!"

Yay! If you ever need advice or have questions I’m your posso!
Hi, yes it’s Tristis the chef possum! Someone took the Tristis name here so I ended up using my OG fursona, Selindae the Platypus.
I will have my presentation “Trash to Treats: Upping your Cooking Game” uploaded to google drive and available for download here within the next day!
