Some kind soul has been telling folk at work my name is "Chia". They're apparently so confident and persuasive about it that I've had chats today with several people who've known me for 5+ years randomly start pronouncing my name like that. So that's fun. 🙄

Gutted we can't go out and enjoy a rare sunny day in the park. Settling instead for naps, resting the cut toebean, roasting a chicken for the fuzzy invalid, and me finally getting to crack the spine on some new books.

Miraculously survived the vet visit and now home for dinner and antibiotics. Very grateful our vet understands Freya's fear of them and was so good with her.

So frustrating. She was playing with another dog - really nicely and one that in the past she would have been reactive towards so big progress there - and they both ran into a bit of grass that had hidden glass shards. Special place in hell for the idiots dropping glass bottles everywhere I swear.
My vet-phobic dog cut her paw in the park this afternoon and the vet understandably wants us to bring her in for a look. It'll probs need a bandage. Had to happen *just* as we're in the middle of trying to muzzle-train her for vet visits. 😭

First Bonfire Night in the (now not so) new house. The dog formerly not bothered about fireworks is now barking every time some fuckwit in the area sets off a rocket. (Every 2-3 mins)

The dog split my nose open with her forehead about 20 mins ago. I'm totally fine but wish she'd chosen a week when my intern wasn't starting and when we didn't have an in person open day at work. Like at least give me a purple bloody snoot on a WFH no meetings week.

Finally washed and blocked my Nyx sweater (pattern by The Creabea/Rebecca Clow) and it's my new fave thing to wear.
It's oversized, it's fuzzy, and it was just as fun to knit this version as it was the first one I made last year. 🧶

Slow progress on the sweater but watching the bulk of Apple Cider Vinegar has definitely helped.
I said when I started this I was excited for the sleeves. I lied. Learning how to tension bouclé put me off an entire chart back. It'll be worth it, but I can already hear myself cursing Past Cia.

Finally split for the sleeves, and discovered the dye on the dark MC is transferring onto my fingers. Washing's gonna be fun... But that's a future me problem. Current me is enjoying how the colourwork pattern and texture of the bouclé are working out.

Though having endured growing up in a house full of the bloody things to the point of a sibling attempting to store them in my room whilst I still lived there, I suspect my feelings are poss stronger and more offensive to both the figures and their owners at this point.

Started a second Nyx sweater using bouclé as the CC and it's knitting up an absolute treat.
Pattern's by Rebecca Clow (the.creabea on insta) and it's easily the best thing I knit last year. I wear my first Nyx loads. Very much recommend if anyone needs enabling into a new cast on... 🧶
