My parents weren't zealots at least, and my Mom decided she'd just stay home with me while my dad and brother went. She was ex-LDS(left it at 16), and she likely just went for my dad. I think she had developed quite a distaste for organized religion anyway.

I frustrated my Sunday school teacher so much, because there was no way, being the curious child I was, that I was going to "just believe". I wanted concrete logical answers! lol I think she was afraid I would influence the other kids into questioning as well.

This. I was kicked out of Sunday school at 9 for asking too many questions and not "just believing". 🙄Sent to sit upstairs with my parents, where I sat listening to even more BS that didn't make any sense to me. After a while I just refused to go, and would pitch a tantrum every week. That worked.

I used to ask all kinds of questions to my Sunday school teacher, like "how did Noah stop the lions from eating the zebras?,or "where did all the water go?" She just told me to stop questioning and "just believe". Well I was a curious child and that wasn't a sufficient answer. I knew at 9 it was BS.

I wonder how many collect the child tax credit, the GST rebate, benefit from dentacare, etc. Are they just giving that money back?
