Hi Jack, have you looked at this paper? arxiv.org/abs/2501.00428. We have an RD paper where we study fragmentation using Spanish local-level data, which is an example of RD aggregation, not the same as your problem but perhaps useful (here: www.aeaweb.org/articles?id=...)

One solution to wear more coats is to move to Scandinavia! Then you have the opposite problem with your summer clothes though...
