I just saw my birthday
show up
on the clock
and within one minute
it was gone
I'll have to wait
another twelve hours
to celebrate
one minute of time

in the rubs against me
when all I needed
was a friend

I taste metal
in my meal
& feel fire
in my womb
there is no other way to live

& transfuse myself
& ask
to be joined again
by the wise one
for until then
