Killdeer arent seen as harbringrrs of death but provective... idigeneous folklore
Ah they are the guardians of the river, which serves as the portal for living passing to the realms of the dead .the killdeer emits a cry to prevent humans coming to close to the river. If the living touch the river they are transformed into fish, the killdeer s cry tries to prevent this
Going to have to see what folklore if any is attached to killdeer.. π
Sound like a fab day the white eagles soaring above you wow. But your memory of a killdeer thinking actuallly killing deers reminded me of a heavily pregnant 8 inch high Jack russell going for a deerπ€£
