a few days ago i think i saw 2(!) of them quickly diving away (they're pretty skittish and good divers, i know this at least) so i'm hoping they might nest here, giving me more chances to solve my mystery.
my ongoing impactful experience with a wild animal is this mystery small waterfowl at the ponds near my house - i can't identify/recognize it as any of the birds i know are around there, and it's skittish enough that i never get a good look at it. i'm trying to spot it everytime i go down there.
