MIA surgeon A/Prof Alex van Akkooi delivered oral abstract at #ASCO25 on results of COLUMBUS-AD trial run thru @eortc.org - randomised trial of adjuvant encorafenib & binimetinib v placebo in pts with high risk Stage II melanoma with BRAF mutation. Promising results for this post-surgery treatment.

At #ASCO25 Prof Georgina Long delivered oral on RELATIVITY-098 trial (combi of nivolumab & relatlimab v nivolumab alone in Stage III & Stage IV pts post surgery). Negative results, so whilst combi IO works for adv melanoma, doesn’t work post-surgery as ‘mop up’ therapy.

On #ClinicalTrialsDay we celebrate the patients who participate in clinical trials. We recognise their quiet courage, often in the face of limited treatment options, to choose to participate. They don’t just receive experimental treatment, they willingly contribute to revolutionising melanoma care.
