This is a thing that is within their control and they absolutely should make their negotiating position

The Iran hawks have just been full of it for years while every real CCP threat is “well, who can say what those anti-ship missiles are for”

Every over hyped Iran threat is shit the PRC can actually do, do a thousand times better, or is actively capable of pursuing.

FBI warns Iran aspired to attack California with drones in retaliation for war: Alert The warning came in a bulletin that was reviewed by ABC News.

Crashing the 'transformational' fleet architecture of the 00s straight into sequester was truly devastating, but then they straight up botched FFG(X)—which was a program that really needed to have happened in like 2014 not 2017 (also keeping LCS through the sequester was uhhhh A Choice™)

they have the longest lead time items the most dependent on congressional whims and an industry that will straight up die if you take your foot off the gas and then have choked repeatedly on Must Do's while also getting slammed by events

the refrain i've repeated for years now is that the Navy has been dealt the worst hand of the services over the last decade(s) but they've also played it badly

also tbh Navalists have also just straight up sucked at execution, flop like fish on the hill where it actually matters and then also OPNAV is lol lmao

The risk for babies who get measles under the age of 6 months to develop this within 10 years is 1 in 600.

a homeless guy on my block just threw a rock into the post office window for no reason

it’s not humane to let clearly unwell people wither away on the street until they become a danger to themselves or others

we need a combo of right to shelter and mental health treatment for those who need it

Did you talk to him? Did he say he had no reason?

No. More likely this is just an assumption. or worse, complete bullshit made up to generate public distrust of the houseless.

There was a long-running effort to correctly identify mental illness and drug addiction as medical conditions rather than moral failures. But now there's a real bizarre effort among the NPIC and in left-wing spaces to say these are rational people making rational choices. I don't get it!

Whether it's Democrat John Kerry asking for Swiss on his cheesesteak or Republican Donald Trump demanding a list of Jews at the University of Pennsylvania, both sides have made controversial requests in the city of Philadelphia.

This is spreading all over Bluesky today and is wildly misleading--it is from eight months ago and it is in reference to working with NATO allies and arming Ukraine.

it's worth thinking about this as a kind of Nazi ideology: a belief that the country's military failures are a result of insufficient brutality rather than poor political decision-making

Trump’s power and by extension his entire movement are built around the idea that by asserting something you manifest it in reality. Even if it’s not true many people will behave as if is so you can get away with it.

It is alarmingly effective in law, domestic politics. It cannot unblock a strait.

Everything these days is a national scandal but fucking around with troop deaths and injuries is one of the few bipartisan areas where DJT and Hegseth should be feeling lithium ion battery fire level heat.

“R’s will send your kids to war unprepared and lie about their death” is the message now.

This is hysterical considering the most charitable view of Kobe's legacy is that of a relentless competitor who absolutely would not have bowed down to Wilt's record if he had the chance.

Pete Hegseth is dedicated to bushido, or the way of the warrior, and as such very into the extensive makeup tips.

Odd, there is an entire agency/agencies that are usually in charge of assessing the threat.

But, sure, let’s put Jared, the son-in-law in charge of when we wage war.

This is certainly true in the modern polling era, but it's probably true for all of American history. Hard to think of any other major conflict which lacked majority popular support when it began.
