Ah I loved that place! I recommend their bookmarks

It's very clear the best games are made by people who aren't only consuming... other games.

You need to read fiction, poetry, history, go to galleries, watch films, meet strangers, look at fashion shoots.

I just need a strong sense of place, an esoteric metaphysical layer to it, and confident art direction that elevates the text. Gameplay is fine too.

I think a lot of why this is is because a lot of gamers treat games as wish fulfilling toy machines as opposed to creative endeavors of technical expression.

If music was reviewed like videogames are:

"This metal song has too much drums."

"I wish this song wasn't metal, I like Rap. It should be Rap."

"The song is good but they should hire a new singer"

"The thing is they're using Gibson guitars, they need to switch to Fender and it'll sound better"

my wardrobe is entirely black with a few other neutrals, so playing with textures/silhouettes/accessories is my only chance to be a dramatic fruit with an outfit
