Nowadays, with the enemies of truth and knowledge stripping our history books, our young people are becoming further separated from the Civil Rights Movement. My mom was in elementary school when they were desegregated. She witnessed things that she still talks about. My mom, with access to whiteness, watched helplessly while her black peers were being threatened, being pelted by rocks, food, whatever the angry mob could get their hands on. My best friend is dating a fella whose grandmother was on the opposite side, she was the one being pelted. We aren't that far removed from this time. And in a time where we are going backwards, where our supposed commander-in-chief is crying about reverse racism, we really need to buckle down and resist. So to my fellow millennials, take it upon yourself to teach these important lessons on humanity and what we SHOULD be. And my lovely elder zoomers, I encourage you to learn. Dive deep. Don't let them erase our history. Fight the patriarchy. Don't judge people by the color of their skin but instead, by the content of their character. It's super frustrating that I can't find my mic. I kind of wanted to stream the Sims because I'm in pain and need a distraction. I mean, I'll play anyway but no one will be getting any chat replies. I'd say no one shows up to the chat anyway but today has been full of surprises.
