Average consultant NHS salary is £160k ?!!!!
Can someone please tell me what I’m doing wrong if this is the ‘average’ ? 😆😆😆

During the pandemic, especially in wave 2, I saw many women miscarry or suffer stillbirth as a result of Covid-19. I’ve seen zero pregnant women becoming critically ill or lose their baby through mRNA covid vaccines. This is cruel, stupid and shameful.
So true. I used ChatGPT to help me design and make a monitor lift for my office recently, which was great, no way I could have done it ‘alone.’
Throughout the process it was painfully sycophantic, telling me I was (among other things) a ‘precision builder’ 🤪
And yet Farage, the biggest Trump lover of them all, is predicted to win big at the local elections…?!
Go, Charlie, go! 🏃 Fabulous cause!
Thank you!
Hi all, my brother in law Charlie is running the marathon on Sunday for a very worthy cause - Shooting Star Children’s Hospices.
Please consider visiting his page and donating. Thank you.
Tagging @doctoroxford.com in the hope she would approve!! 😀

There’s a curious group of people who, in my exp, were never seeing patients, never set foot in a hospital, who still rant and rave about the pandemic on a regular basis, whether it’s Joe Rogan (who saw his earnings soar), or fear-mongering science influencers attempting to cling onto relevance
Christ what an album.
Uk here. If it looks like he grew a backbone it is not only a surprise it is also highly unlikely. He’s just doing whatever occurs to him next.
He’s like Trump but on an infinitely smaller scale and utterly irrelevant.
Movies you’ve watched more than six times, gifs only
Boris explains it all. 🤪
Appeasement. History has something to say about that doesn’t it?
The UK is facing a critical failure in medical workforce planning.
Thousands of doctors are trapped in a bottleneck, blocked from progressing due to a shortage of training posts.
This has been a crisis that was foreseeable and entirely preventable. www.ft.com/content/ddb5...
Dr Purbrick said practices are ‘considering all options’ because there is a ‘nervousness around all aspects of the GP contracts’ and ‘what most practices spend on staff far exceeds what they’re actually getting through GMS funding’.

This is what happens when you cut funding, but 'protect the front line'. www.theguardian.com/society/2025...
Oh FFS not this again.
The NHS is chronically under-managed, more admin burden on clinical staff means less clinical work gets done.
I also note we’re still clutching the ‘more with less’ straw.
Disappointing doesn’t cover it @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social

We now have two (2!) CPD days available to book:
Cardiac disease in surgical patients. Virtual. 12th March 2025.

1,391 practices have closed since 2015
Factors causing this can include partner retirements, the inability to recruit staff or GP partners
Whilst the GP workforce has been declining, the number of patients continues to increase, demonstrating the ever-mounting workload

Robert Jenrick stands outside the courts of justice and hypocritically complains about delays in rape trials.
It takes some chutzpah for the guy who was a home office minister and member of a government that presided over a decade of neglect of the courts and justice system to stand up and complain about the mess they left behind. Like s***ing the bed then moaning about the smell.
Here @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social being told that a qualified GP can’t get a job is signing on (Oct 2024)
He has allocated £80m to PCNs to employ 1000 GPs - just 200 have been because it’s an ill thought out scheme, too restrictive & no security
Just fund GP practices & let them employ GPs
PCN ARRS
176 FTE salaried GPs & 13 FTE locums in Dec ‘24
Headcount 348 salaried GPs & 20 locums
65 FTE salaried GPs & 5 locums in June - so the gain 111 salaried & 8 locums
JUST 119 FTE GPs
Headcount 157 salaried & 11 locum GPs in PCNs in June 2024
MAX gain is only 200 GPs
There are a lot of acronyms involved in the treatment of cancer!

Truss attempts to cease and desist objective reality.
Seems about right.
Failure to retain the staff trained in the UK, letting skilled & knowledgable staff leave by focus on numbers of staff not retention
This is failure @rthonwesstreeting.bsky.social @nhsengland.bsky.social @nhsemployers.bsky.social
