It would be nice if movies and documentaries would state the exact location because there is only 1 Henniker, but several Enfield, Pembroke, Concord, Hillsborough, Salem, Springfield, and so on. It wouldn't take away interest. In fact it would increase interest in knowing the state/country.
What did you do for your 25th anniversary?
He & my dad never got along, so my dad saw it as another punch. The mining company demolished the house, and out back, the forest is all gone. Stepgrandfather profited off Grandma in a big way. My dad would have bought it if they wanted to downsize. But he was a business man, & they don't care.
One upsetting house update, was seeing my father's family farm destroyed. The big white house, with an even bigger red barn, on the road to the race track. We would visit in the warm months and watch the people stuck in traffic on race day. Stepfather sold it out from under the family for millions.
That house got a 2nd bathroom. That would have been nice. The upstairs was off limits, it was full of antiques. And they changed it from oil to gas. Barns removed. Buildings added to the 100 acres. They removed hundred years old roses. It has ghosts. I wonder if the old man went there after death.
After the divorce there were many houses. We lived in one of the oldest houses in the state; 1790. That property was supposed to go to the Audubon because the owner didn't want "kids" fighting over property they had no claim to. The "sons" took advantage and sold it. It's been remodeled & parceled.
The mobile home we had from 84-92, has changed. Interesting how it was added on to & remodeled instead of being replaced. They took down the oak tree but left mom's lily bed. They removed the wood stove that my sister burnt her hand on. It has ghosts.
One of my kids recently went to one of my old neighborhoods. I looked up the house where we lived the 1st 4years of my life. It's no longer blue. There, Concord Monitor took our picture after a 1983 snowstorm. The snow pile was to the 2nd balcony of the 3 story house. From there, I looked up others.
The 3-3 plan would cost people more. The property tax needs to stay locally controlled. The voucher program needs to end. If you want your kid to go to a different school, move to that town. If you want your kid in a private school pay for it yourself.
No income tax & No sales tax in NH!😠I'm not surprised that the people pushing for taxes in NH are out-of-staters. They should read our constitution. Once you introduce a tax, there are always more taxes & tax increases. NH people are not rich enough to deal with it. Tax the rich! Legalize cannabis!

There are many enlisted with bone spurs. My husband has a heel bone spur and it didn't stop him from doing sports or being in the USAF 1999-2023.

More like the 60s. The 80s average house price was near $80,000. $20 for all of that food would require a double coupon day+food stamps. The 80s was the start of Reaganomics+Bush Sr's war on the MiddleEast. Businesses closed, people got poor, drug use increased, quality of products decreased.
