I am a pessimist by training but I am more optimistic about Ukraine now than I was this morning. Wish I could say this about the US. This was a horror show, but the trajectory was unsustainable and Trump, in his efforts to help Putin might have generated the pushback energy I haven't seen since 2022
All we see here is that Zelensky is not rolling over.
Pay attention.
Reason it looks “bad” is because Ze (like most Ukrainians) won’t just give up his country’s territory to aggressors & we are not used to seeing that.
Smaller countries & their leaders often give in to bullying.
There’s no profit in dissecting what transpired in the White House. If there was ever any ambiguity as to where the administration was headed, it is surely gone.
The only question now is whether that disambiguation makes its way to Europe before Zelensky’s plane lands in London.
