Check out this green stink (eastern Otago). This beauty was showing how aptly named this species is.

There is considered to be three resident populations of #orca in Aotearoa. One that lives around the North Island, one around the South, and one that moves around both. ๐ #dolphins #nz
We do, but the males still have a beautiful pattern, as do most of our skinks here
The jewelled gecko on Banks Peninsula display colour dimorphisim. While the females are the typical green pattern, males actually tend to be brown ๐ #newzealand #gecko #lizards #ecology #conservation
This really features on the industrial issues, does the cactus also pose a threat to native ecosystems?
This is when AI decides we are the problem ๐
Great to see fish passage being restored
Stunning capture
Handled under DOC permit.
I was fortunate enough to assist with the monitoring of Duvaucel's #geckos on an offshore island. I won't specify the location as we are weary of poachers but this was in #nz. This marked the 10th and final year of monitoring, which indicated that the translocation of this population was a success ๐
Cool capture
Interesting when a species becomes invasive in its own countries. We have some native plants that have spread through NZ to become invasive where they don't naturally occur.
Did you get a photo of the bellbird? Nice kaka shot
That's cool! Our native bats in NZ have species specific ticks.
Cute! Cool info too
Amazing research!
Life goal!
Great sequence
The reef colours are amazing
Handled under a doc permit
The unintended effects of conservation work. Shows how unbalanced our ecosystems are.
Great work! ๐ข
Awesome sight!
Beautiful shot
Cute!
This forest gecko was not stoked about moving homes. Check out the yellow/orange mouth. Forest geckos are arboreal and are usually found on the tree trunk/branches rather than the foliage. Great to be able to safely relocate it. ๐ #gecko #nature #conservation #newzealand
A pair of Austrlasian gannets/tฤkapu at their nest. Fledglings typically fly to Australia and don't return for three years. #birds #newzealand #ecology ๐ฆ๐
Wonderful to spot these guys!
