Beautiful tones Nick, especially the first one π
What a difference 15 minutes can make regarding the variation of light as it falls along the reservoir at Alton Water. From peach soft hues, to intense copper tones framing this Great Crested Grebe at sunrise.

Shoreline snappery along the east coast at #Covehithe. A rugged location for this part of world, largely due to coastal erosion.

Early morning along one of the many streams which frame the village close to home. I don't think I could ever tire of watching the kingfishers traverse the streams during the early hours.

Badger cubs venture forth at dusk close to their sett. There were four in this particular litter & they would never stray far from their home. The 3rd image in the series was either mum or dad. Difficult to tell, but always remained close to the cubs.

A brief montage of the recently fledged kingfishers along the riverbed. Part of a local project I've been working on in the village, capturing the hidden life of this micro habitat.

Puffins calling out on Skomer Island, off the coast of Wales. One of a series of images taken on a recent visit last week. Conservation efforts have helped stabilise & increase the puffin population with around 43,000 recorded in this year alone.

Momentary encounters with Puffins on Skomer Island, off the coast of Wales. These seabirds return to the island each spring, typically in April, after spending the winter months far out at sea.

Skomer Island off the #Pembrokeshire coast. Photographing puffins in flight presents a challenge due to their rapid, erratic movement & size. A fast prime lens can help capture that moment such as a 200 f2 / 300 f2.8.

Puffins share a fascinating seasonal breeding cycle on the Island of Skomer. They nest in burrows dug into the soft, grassy soil of the islandβs cliffs & slopes. Each pair lays a single egg & share incubation duties, which lasts around 40 days.

A wonderful encounter this morning when walking the fields close to home. The sun had yet to break and a Fallow doe effortlessly skipped across the wheat fields without a care in the world. Just magical.

Dunlin along the shoreline at Balranald, Uist, Outer Hebrides. A series of high key images captured from my recent trip walking the shorelines of this magical Isle. Shooting in to the sun, I've metered for the frame but then over exposed by around two stops framing my subject.
Dunlins take to flight along the shoreline, North Uist, Outer Hebrides. Clad in their summer plumage, they move in coordinated flocks, rising and falling like the waves.
The dunlin, a delicate wading bird, enchants with its graceful form and rhythmic movements. Its slender, downcurved bill and striking summer plumageβmarked by a black belly patchβadd to its charm.
Chasing waves. Dunlin along the shoreline at day break, North Uist, Outer Hebrides.
Dunlins along the shoreline at Balranald, #Uist . They migrate to the #OuterHebrides in spring, arriving from West Africa & southern Europe. They breed on the islandsβ wet machair & moorlands, taking advantage of rich feeding grounds.
