Thankfully if you don't want to play Pathologic 1 there are other ways of experiencing it.

I highly recommend "Pathologic, For Those Who Will Never Play It" so far it's only covered one of the main characters, The Bachelor Act 1 and 2, but The Haruspex is almost finished: youtu.be/1w-r21nDfb0?...

The voice lines being different from the actual lines is 100% intentional. As not only did they keep it in 2 and 3, but on a developer interview for 3 they said "We actually had the budget for full voice acting for 3, but we decided not to. It doesn't fit."

My advice? Walk diagonally everywhere, you move like 25% faster. When it comes? Simply keep walking and get good at dodging.
