It's a level of chaotic fun I've rarely seen in games, I think the jank is part of the charm.
A moderate amount of money could be made if they decided to remake it with online multiplayer.

Managed to finish of the trio with Popplio after only 16,176 resets, this hunt ended upt aking a bit longer than I expected, but now I have to play through my USUM games to do the late-game hunts I've been wanting to do. #shinypokemon

I remember hearing of this glitch some 7 years ago and despite trying it on a lot of my Japanese platinum copies I never managed to get it to happen.
Always thought it was some first print only glitch or something.
Good to know it was fake all along.
