It's extremely frusturating seeing other people my age act like this. I attribute it to mostly to the social media culture we see today and those who choose to buy into it. Many also just use it as a way to justify their behavior behind arbitrary numbers. I'm sorry you experienced this!

Photo of my haul from the Powells City of Books. I got volume one of The Rose of Versailles and volune four of Beastars (first volume in english for me, will have to find more languages next!) Then a collection of Jorge Luis Borges literature and a book covering Latin American folklore. I was very happy to see such a strong selection in other languages. Very refreshing compared to the bookstores I visit.

Remainder photos from my time in Portland, Oregon. I was able to find some treasures at the thrift stores and had a blast playing at the arcade & finding books. The amount of thrift stores was amazing to me!
