If you've watched the Sommerdahl scandi drama series you'll see why it's known as the Riviera. Apparently the coast is very sheltered.

The Leeds Brewery beer is good, and the food too. The table upstairs at the front has a fine view of the Minster. And there's a lovely large 1910 map of York downstairs.

Men who look upon themselves born to reign, and others to obey, soon grow insolent; selected from the rest of mankind their minds are early poisoned by importance; and the world they act in differs so materially from the world at large, that they have but little opportunity of knowing its true interests, and when they succeed to the government are frequently the most ignorant and unfit of any throughout the dominions.

Elon Muskβs Useful British Idiots

If pumping indecent images of children into our news feeds, isnβt enough to force the Government to finally take action against Musk then nothing ever will be.

Our next event is @suemajor.bsky.social talking about Blossom Street through time, on 23 Jan 2026, details at shorturl.at/5Aci8. One of Yorkβs early suburbs, historically the important route into the city, it has interesting modern elements such as the old Forsselius Garage and the Odeon Cinema.
