Do we think they're going to be allowed back into Canada? Or are the Mounties just going to tell them to go back, try again, do better?
Why do the Tkachuks have to be such bad people? Because otherwise I would absolutely adore this Bash Brothers routine they have going on.

Goodness I love @projectforawesome.com #p4a2026
Me: Pittsburgh... Sweaters... Look for the helpers... MR ROGERS NEIGHBORHOOD.
My husband: The way your brain works is fascinating but I do not understand it at all.
One of the answers to trivia tonight was "Mr Rogers Neighborhood" but I was having a brain fart and couldn't come up with it so I started circumlocuting like it was a word in another language.
While independent bookstores are giving out free whistles, hosting protest sign making events, and donating proceeds to mutual aid, Amazon is *checks notes* providing technology that assists ICE in their terrorizing of communities.
Independent bookstores deserve your support. Amazon does not.
Truly, I thought by 2026 everyone knew the rule "if you don't want it read in a court of law, don't put it in an email" but I was WRONG.
I think @sarahjeong.bsky.social said it's because they devalue women's labor and a LOT of this Scary Logistics stuff comes from people who don't understand that basically all of the civic life they enjoy is created with the help of free labor, largely by women.
Placed an order at Tropes & Trifles in Minneapolis today. It's not all I'm planning and it's not all we all can do.
But indie bookstores are often the heart of a community. So if you're looking for some new books, might I suggest you pick a bookstore in the Twin Cities?

So I had read the Widdershins series by Jordan L Hawk but missed this one! Definitely up my alley.
That one is so good! I am hard to recommend things for since I just read too much.
Range! Options! I have so many things in my cart for tomorrow. I will make a donation if I end up getting these in audio.
Ooooo that looks good. I'm in!
Sounds good to me! I'm on board.
Definitely!
I have it's so good. I should add Allie Therin to the list of people I have read everything from (dying for EDGE OF MERCY!)
I will read anything (and have pretty much read everything) that Cat Sebastian and KJ Charles write. I love a good pining and boys being idiots with too many feelings.
Also - thank you for introducing me to a new romance bookstore! My cart runneth over.
Today in "My Job is So Cool" news: I got to listen to Mac Barnett and Carson Ellis record an interview for a kids program on public radio and these two are so great.
Can't wait for everyone to get to experience RUMPELSTILTSKIN in a few weeks.
I am looking for a book to gift to a friend. And we need to send it to my friend tomorrow to make it in time. And I would love to buy this book at an indie store... but I don't have time to check every one in NYC after work today.
Is there a tool I can use to check the inventory of all the indie bookstores in my area to see if they have a specific book? If it doesn't exist, that would be so nice.
Hollow Kingdom by Kira Jane Buxton made me do a spit take in the middle of it. Just a delight.

Yesterday my therapist asked me if I read to avoid facing the realities of how I don't know how to relax.
My only response was "how dare you. OF COURSE I'm reading to avoid things! Isn't that the whole point?"
Apparently I need to "reframe my thinking" and "find some new hobbies" which... Fair.
Including Kelly Andrew's THE GRAVEWOOD.
"The Gravewood is a fun blend of dystopia, gothic, and fantasy romance, complete with snarky banter and emotional complexity that hits that Twilight/Hunger Games vibe in the most perfect way."

Shot from the field of the tunnell out of which the Oregon Duck has run, there are fans in the stands behind the uprights, an empty band section and cheerleaders lining the Duck's runway. The Duck is facedown with no head and the head is a couple of yards further upfield, upside down
RUN UP THAT SCORE, INDIANA.
Handmade sign that says "7,253 uniform combos, 0 national championships" but the zero is the Oregon O
I swear there's nothing better than watching the Ducks not win a national championship.
We just had to ask for recommendations for touring authors just in case their events become a target for ICE since there are so many kids and families involved with children's books.
WHAT IS THIS HELLSCAPE WE LIVE IN.
