A random fan could’ve picked a lineup that made more sense. Instead we’ve got a left back who can’t use his right foot at right wing so we can play our third string left back at the presumed starter’s best position.
This feels like a much more difficult way of putting together a lineup than is necessary with the players we have. Thus, I fully expect Nico to do it
FWIW I’m not a big fan of Borrell or this roster build. If trends continue, I hope they move Uzuni during the WC break (since Vazquez won’t play much before then anyways) and sign a DP 10 and TAM 6. But viewed holistically this is a much better attack than last year, so the negativity is weird to me
Do you not credit his improved numbers in a better league this year? Seems plausible a young guy would continue to improve.
Also, does it not matter that Austin has improved chance creation around the roster? (See attached). Or is your position they NEED a 10? bsky.app/profile/socc...
I’m okay using the next few months when they’re probably playing a 4-3-3 to see if Duber/Sabo/Ilie can step up. But if none of those guys improves by the summer, I really want them to use a substantial amount of TAM on a 6
The Olivia Nuzzi story and the Bari Weiss at CBS story are the same story, which is that the upper echelons of legacy media are absolutely rife with people who worship power and don't feel burdened by any sense of responsibility to their profession or the public.

I know you have watched his box scores. You should watch his games. Teams constantly cheat over to his side because Austin has no wide threat on the left and he still makes things happen (but his teammates don't crash the box). Austin has massive roster build problems. He isn't the issue
What are you talking about? In the five prior games (including four he was healthy for) he: started at LAFC, didn't travel for SJ (injury), started vs. LAFC, started vs. STL, started vs. Nashville
Bukari didn't lose his starting job. He was injured.
That will happen on every corner she referees for the rest of her career and she’ll never call it again. She gave Nashville a free 80% chance at a goal in the second half of a tied cup final not b/c she thought it was a PK, but because Dani didn’t listen to her. That his horrendous refereeing
Since the Ezra & Ta-Nehisi discussion is still happening: the main point I think most are missing is that Klein is saying the role of the journalist-intellectual is to do strategic politics, whereas Coates says the role of the journalist-intellectual is to tell the truth
Hey @usmnt.ussoccer.com you have your keeper for the October window. @bradstuver.com
The Stuver propaganda will continue until he gets a call-up for the Ecuador game at Q2
Re: keeper, is there a reason Stuver is never in the convo given the options? I figure it’s age but he should be fine for next year. And it seems like he’d bring consistency, leadership, etc.
@grahamruthven.bsky.social re cheering for MLS, i totally get the tension you described. Lots of motivations I’m sure but for me, I couldn’t care less about winning, but it was just kind of fun to go, watch some goals, cheer for Stuver, and show the league (and new fans in Texas) our environment
Taken as a whole, the Supreme Court has decided we should live in a smaller, crueler country where neighbors should be pitted against each other more frequently.
The law is much more about power than doctrine. That certainly shouldn't be our aspiration, but it's the reality. And in order to win a better world, you have to engage with the world with that understanding.
If you want to know why the shallow identity politics of Democrats and corporations failed its because they tried to adopt the packaging of the left without ever adopting its substance. All politics is identity politics, but identity can never be your only politics
It made me immeasurably sad to see many Jews (and many others) put together a smear campaign with false allegations of anti-Semitism to score political points. And it gives me so much belief in humanity that people saw through it.
Mamdani has mainstream views, has answered questions carefully, has not really made a misstep, and STILL gets accused of antisemitism because that word has become such a blunt, shapeless weapon. it helps nobody, least of all actual targets of actual antisemitism

Wow so we should be hearing about signings any day now
Hard to find a better ride in Colorado.
Also spent a chunk of the season starting 3 midfielders but playing a 4-4-2. Maybe I didn’t watch Dallas enough but I expected the gameplan to be more cohesive than whatever this is (and to not change every other game)
Well it took 15 games but you win
Y’all significa Todos. Excepto ICE y cualquiera que ataque a nuestra comunidad. Lucha contra la ignorancia, no contra los inmigrantes. Elimina a ICE.
Los Verdes honors and stands with the act of bravery and defiance that La Brigada De Oro and their fútbol family showed by canceling their match day activities and attendance at last week’s Nashville SC match due to increased ICE activity in their area. The stands should be a safe place where we stand in shared passion for fútbol y communidad. No member should feel unsafe in their community due to nationality, ethnicity, or immigration status. Our family and our community are not complete when we are not all here. Supporters should not have to choose between safety and sport. This kind of targeted harassment does not and will not stop with Nashville. We stand alongside our fútbol family throughout the United States in defiance of xenophobia and racism. Y’all means All. Except ICE and anyone attacking our community. Fight Ignorance, Not Immigrants. Abolish ICE.
Our Support for La Brigada De Oro
