Today I met with Simon Lightwood MP, Minister for Local Transport, to discuss the ongoing issues at Chetwynd Bridge.
I will keep working with the DfT and the County Council to get a solution for Chetwynd Bridge, which is currently causing significant disruption for farming and our local economy.

I had a great time at Crufts today with The Kennel Club, who do such important work promoting responsible dog breeding and ownership. I was also delighted to judge the first grooming competition, which also looks to raise awareness of standards and best practice in the pet grooming industry.

Tamworth has a Community Diagnostic Centre with Sir Robert Peel Hospital delivering more NHS services locally.
But many residents are still forced to travel elsewhere. In Parliament I raised this with the Minister to push for more local NHS investment and better links so care is closer to home.

I asked the Prime Minister to help find a solution to reopen Chetwynd Bridge, a vital route that has been restricted to cars and light vans since October 2023.

Labourβs free breakfast clubs have already served over 6 million breakfasts to children across the country.
