We love to see this: The Long Beach Public Library is offering digital library cards so readers can access banned books to help offset censorship!

That's wild.
Great Bluesky feature. I used to forget way too often on the other app, now I never do.

In case any of my fellow creatives also needed this reminder:
The fortuneβs description from a fortune cookie: βYou will be unusual successful in business.β
I have mixed feelings about this one.

This isn't something I've thought about before!
Itβs been a while since I have been able to join one of these. Looking forward to it!
You can also check out the EFA or CIEP for editors.
A lovely Icelandic term for pins and needles (tingling after your foot goes numb) is stjΓΆrnur Γ skΓ³num, or βstars in your shoes.β A Yoruba version is pajapaja (βkill dog kill dogβ). And the best one Iβve heard in German (uttered by a friendβs child) was mein FuΓ glitzert. It means βmy foot twinklesβ
Okay, #romancelandia, I've gotten a request for some sex-free romance novel recommendations, and that is admittedly not my area of expertise. Who has favourites they want to share?
Can pizza scientist become a real job? I love editing, but I may consider a career change for that.
Seeking out answers to the most important topics.
(Seriously, though, more cheese science!)
So, is this why it takes so long for reheated pizza to get gooey again? (I reheat mine in a nonstick with a lid.)

Cat-sitting a normally very sweet cat at the moment. It's his first time in my house. The second night, he meowed so much, I woke up. He just wanted me in the same room, far away from him, so he could hiss and yowl at me.
(He now lets me boop his nose, albeit grudgingly. He was just stressed out.)
I'm in this post and I am not sure if I like it. π€£
A beautiful, smiling pile of new books labelled "New Books for Autumn" innocently attracts the attentions of a young man. Beside him, his pile of books (labelled "Unfinished Summer Reading") notices this and scowls at him. The image is a cartoon pastiche of the βdistracted boyfriendβ meme.
My cartoon for Guardian Booksβ autumn reading special.
