AI is extremely useful IF you have a grounding in the fundamentals of the field/area you are applying the work to. Bc it’s not perfect and it will make mistakes or misunderstanding your input or just flat out hallucinate. And you need that fundamental knowledge to recognize something is hinky /2

This is actually illustrative of why I don’t allow my grad students to use any AI for assignments (strict “No AI” rule; treated as an academic integrity violation). It’s not because AI isn’t useful or is inaccurate, etc. Quite the opposite! /1
