I think this is the biggest problem with AI. Most folks donβt understand how it should be used. If youβre going to use it to help you answer questions or perform tasks in highly specialized fields, then you need to be trained in said field(s) as well so you can verify the output. /5
β¦ if the output is reasonable or completely out of left field. I wouldnβt use a tool like whatβs been developed here bc Iβm not a lawyer and I wouldnβt know if the information it was giving me was accurate. But if I was a labor attorney, Iβd snatch this up and definitely add it to my toolbelt. /4
So I force my students to make sure they have that theoretical knowledge first. That way when they DO use AI to help them clean a data file or generate a data visualization or select a method for balancing a data class, imputing missing data, etc. they have enough knowledge to understand β¦ /3
AI is extremely useful IF you have a grounding in the fundamentals of the field/area you are applying the work to. Bc itβs not perfect and it will make mistakes or misunderstanding your input or just flat out hallucinate. And you need that fundamental knowledge to recognize something is hinky /2
This is actually illustrative of why I donβt allow my grad students to use any AI for assignments (strict βNo AIβ rule; treated as an academic integrity violation). Itβs not because AI isnβt useful or is inaccurate, etc. Quite the opposite! /1
Thank you for saying this!! I was gonna respond to say exactly this but now I donβt have to! Some folks act like photoshop was never a thing and itβs only with the rise of AI that this kind of thing is possible π
In addition to everything else, if the purpose of Operation Midnight Hammer was to stop doing Iran from doing something and they continued to do it, the phrase you are looking for is not "despite the success of the operation" but rather "due to its failure"
Shalom friends! Purim is a time for womenβs voices to be front and center. Letβs finally hear from the women of Achashveroshβs harem, because they have some SHIT to SAY! #Purim collab with the iconic Tiferet (@tuchas_offan_tish on insta)
I was the KING of book it! All I did was read as a kid (I was a geek with very few friendsβ¦and most of those friends were characters in books lol)
That is SOOO f-cked up and Iβm so sorry you had to hear that! May his memory be a blessing. And may G-d grant you the patience not to b-tch slap the sh-t out of someone for saying something so nasty to you. ::hugs::
While of all of them, Iβd love to see him banished from DC and made into a pariah to the point no one would ever hire him (shanda that he is), something tells me heβll squeak by on this one with little to no fall out. Hope Iβm wrong. Jackass deserves a karmic ass whoopinβ of epic proportions. /end
I would be elated if Noem was impeached and removed (Iβd much rather see that than have her be fired / quit) but I think itβs 50/50 whether she stays or goes. Bovino I think is a safe bet to say heβs gone. I think Miller isnβt going anywhere sadly. /1
legal remedy available to us available through the courts?! Itβs high time we stood against her and demanded the Courts remind her of her Oath of office and who she worksβwe the People, not DJT. @aclu.org I think itβs time for you to get creative and force the Courts to deal with Bondi. /end
to uphold her oath of office to preserve and defend the Constitution and now sheβs threatening to come after Americans for exercising their right to protest and characterizing Lemonβs reporting of one such protest as a βcoordinated attackβ. If Congress wonβt impeach her, isnβt there some other /2
Hey @aclu.org given Bondiβs recent threat to the American people after the arrest of @donlemonofficial.bsky.social isnβt there some kind of class action or other type of legal remedy we can bring on behalf of the People specifically against Bondi in her capacity as AG? She long ago failed /1
He may not know me from Adam (heh Jewish pun not intended), but I appreciate him putting real teshuvah into action and doing what he can to heal the world. Mazel tov!
This is what real teshuvah looks like. And to see it come from an Evangelical isβ¦there are no words. Next time you talk to him, tell him I said βThank you. Thank you for recognizing the harm you were doing but more importantly thank you for working to set things right and repairβ.
And by βTreeβ you mean βTwigβ. Thatβs it. Just a twig. With a few leaves.
The retreat means:
White men's lives matter.
Anyone who is NOT that?
Can stand by to die
Their lives are disposable
At least we've confirmed where the line isπ
I think we all kinda figured that
you don't become a martyr because you were a saint, you become a saint because you were martyred
Sorry I didnβt see that you apologized. All that popped into my timeline were numerous replies of you pushing back which was why I responded and tried to explain.
A word of advice: generally speaking, just avoid comparisons to Hitler and the Nazis in general. Chances are, you are going to draw a spurious conclusion and end up offending A LOT of us (i.e. Jews) and end up skirting (if not crossing) the line into antisemitism.
between the two. Any Jew that reads your post is going to find it HIGHLY offensive bc you are essentially saying βHey Trump has zero redeeming qualities. Heβs worse than Hitler who at least liked his dog and was a vegetarianβ. And no Trump is not worse than Hitler. He hasnβt committed genocide (yet)
The problem with what you stated is that you tried to draw a comparison to hitler, a man who murdered -6M Jews and basically said he was better than Trump bc he liked his dog and was a vegetarian. Hitler had no redeeming qualities. Full stop. Neither does Trump. Your mistake was drawing a comparison
I mean he can (and I def can see this playing out) but it wonβt matter. Because it still wasnβt awarded to him. And I hope every Dem and member of the press constantly reminds him of that fact: that he had to trade for some for it and the Nobel committee has never and will never acknowledge him
back to this story for a sec

"he was talking about Harvard, & he was upset about their admissions practices,...then somehow he started talking about Harlem...similar to Harvard, so bc of the H sound... then...talking about how everyone in Harlem loves him..."
"When that happens, we call that βtangential thinking,β because the train has gone onto another track.
People with loose associations and frontotemporal dementia will do a lot of that."
also makes me think of "clanging" in schizophrenia/psychosis, thoughts following sound rather than meaning
"Thatβs really chilling. You said that if he were your patient, you probably would not have him driving....Heβs the president of the United States of America.β
βWell, Trump needs supervision, and the team around him is not providing supervision. Thatβs a problem.β
Anyway! Harder to tell w/the malignant narcissism, but I'd say as a layperson we're well into "middle stages," no?
certainly we've had plenty of observation.
