Change of plans. Other than Coney, I've never been to Brooklyn. And I LOVE antiquities, so methinks the Brooklyn Museum is on top. Anyone have any food suggestions for lunch? I have some mobility issues, so closer to the museum is better!

Day two in Manhattan. Our family has an established tradition of hitting a diner in Chelsea every time we're in town, so I'm heading out for breakfast there before spending the rest of the morning at the Morgan Library. Tonight, Madama Butterfly at the Met Opera. I DO love visiting this city.
Itβs required
DENIED! There are at least 100 people in line for the box office opening. Oh, well!
Iβm going to Carnegie to see if I can score a ticket to see the Philly Symphony tonight. Mahlerβs βResurrectionβ. Then Iβm going to MoMA.
Good morning from the M train heading uptown!
NYC, I am in you!
Join me for a slice of my favorite pie for my birthday! I'm off to NYC!
In 48 hours, I'll be sitting in a comfy seat on the Amtrak Vermonter, watching the world go by on my way to Penn Station. SO stinking happy!
The juxtaposition of this bootlicking against President Obama's ringing call to citizen engagement at Rev. Jackson's memorial is precisely why the cognitive dissonance is this country is so striking.
I am on vacation, nerds! Dinner at a Beard-nominate French restaurant tonight, and then a weekend spent getting ready to head to my beloved NYC for five days of art museums, Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, and FOOD!
Of course it's fine. This regime doesn't give two shits about American military lives, or those of anyone else for that matter. And Putin knows that Dear Leader is half dead, so why not thwart him whenever he can?
If this war (and yes, it's a war) was not about regime change, why does Dear Leader have even the slightest interest in who runs Iran?
BECAUSE HE'S A FUCKING LIAR. AND MAGA IS STILL LICKING HIS BOOTS.
With his own money?
I'm having a large cup of anticipation topped with a splash of glee. Three days until my NYC trip!!! SQUEEE!!!
So HE'S going to choose a leader?
I nominate Kristi Noem and Corey Lewandowski!
</snark>
You're probably right. :)
Maybe that's what the f*ck plane was for in the first place. In her new "role" she can travel all over the western hemisphere, f*cking and flying.
Not an improvement.
Still no.
Now we just need a Brutus.
I'll be on a conference call then, but I'd love to hear more about the AN/FPS-132 phased array radar at Al Udeid Air Base.
Iran is China's primary oil supplier. With shipping cut off in the Strait, China's oil supply is down to what it has on hand and what's floating at sea right now. I doubt China feels they're "not really a factor".
I live in a place where gas is perennially expensive anyway. But our prices went up $0.20 yesterday alone.
If you don't test for COVID, it doesn't exist, remember?
We'l be seeing that meme a lot in the coming days.
We've already got two carrier groups in the area. The carrier HW Bush is being "spun up" off the coast of Virginia right now. To get it ready, the Navy is cannibalizing parts & bodies from other ships in the Atlantic fleet that were scheduled for maintenance.
This is INSANE.
1. This means that we're covering ALL international shipping through the Gulf, regardless of its origin or destination. If a tanker sinks, the American taxpayer is on the hook for the ship, the cargo AND the resulting environmental disaster.
2. We do NOT have the naval resources to escort.
FOREVER? What does Congress even exist for?
