@blindboyboatclub.bsky.social sorry to hear you're laid low with the πpox. Having a bath in porridge water is supposed be good for the itching. You fill a pair of tights with porridge, tie a knot in it, and chuck it in the bath.

Reader of books, player of games, complainer about the Scottish weather. I love video games and TTRPGs. Probably, technically, a Grognard, but not the ππ kind. You won't find me gatekeeping. I welcome everyone to the hobby.

I'd like to see a good ensemble soundtrack, like you used to get back in the 90s. Like the one from The Crow, for example. Who'd be on it though?
As a long-time fan of the Highlander franchise and Henry Cavil, I'm excited for the reboot. I'm really curious to see what they do with the music, though. The Queen soundtrack in the original was a character in its own right. At the very least they'll probably re-use Who Wants to Live Forever. 1/2
*fit? Dammit.
Sorry, I read your "we" as the collective "we". π
I'm now curious. Did you continue to peek out from behind and watch it? And how far away from the wall was your sofa? Was it a comfortable fir
Did we? I didn't. I might have pulled up a cushion in front of my face or something, but I don't know anyone who literally went behind the sofa. Seems like a weird thing to do.
Just seen someone use the phrase "hiding behind the sofa" in relation to Doctor Who. That's a thing we used to say about classic Who, because the baddies supposedly scary. But do you know anyone who actually, literally, hid behind the sofa when Doctor Who was on? Where did that come from?

Going to start Stranger Things season 5 tonight. It occurs to me that with the way they lean into D&D tropes so heavily, it would be an epic twist if they end it on a TPK.
The War Between the Land and the Sea was pretty good. Not perfect, but pretty good. Can we all agree that Kate Lethbridge-Stewart is an absolute icon with whom one does not FAFO if one values one's continued existence?
Have you ever listened to the Levar Burton Reads podcast? He doesn't make it anymore but he has several seasons of fabulous short fiction, read by himself, and has many stories by a huge range of authors. He's where I first heard of Ken Liu and Nnedi Okorafor.
Perfect listening for a flight.
I like this. I'm taking my group through Barovia right now and magic works a little differently there. They've not needed healing yet, but when they do...
When you've been sitting on the toilet too long at work and the lights are about to go out, but someone comes in and trips the motion sensor again, resetting the timer.
Bought the absolute bargain that was World of Darkness @humblebundle.com last month and have just gone to download it all. WHY was only Tier 1 available as a zipped download, @renegadegamestudios.com? You have to download every individual item in Tiers 2 & 3. That's a LOT of clicking! π©
If anyone is off to see @nickofferman.bsky.social in Birmingham tonight, you're in for a treat. I saw him at the Glasgow Pavilion last night and it was an excellent time. Also, bonus Flo & Joan!

I just watched the first episode of Kindred: The Embraced for the first time in almost 30 years.
It was pretty much as cheesy as I remember and I loved every second. Gonna binge the rest over the weekend. #vampirethemasquerade #vtm
Minimum!
You know when you've been scrolling too long on the toilet and you know that the lights are about to go off because nobody has triggered the motion sensor since you sat down and you're gone need to lean out and wave at it and hope nobody sees you but then somebody comes in and resets the countdown?
Secret DM stuff we're not supposed to talk about:
Schroedinger's Trap
A trap that simultaneously exists and does not exist. Pops into existence when cocky players open a previously untrapped door without declaring a trap check.
Likely to manifest when the DM is irked.
Tori Amos' Little Earthquakes is one of the finest albums ever recorded, and I will hear nothing to the contrary!
Very sorry to hear of the passing of ManchΓ‘n Magan this morning. I enjoyed his appearances with @blindboyboatclub.bsky.social. Blindboy, my condolences on the loss of your friend. Go dtabharfaidh na sΓoga solas agus sΓochΓ‘in dΓ³.
Deleted my Threads profile this morning. Seems I'm engaging less and less with social media these days. I do still enjoy Bluesky though, I should make more of an effort here.
Great @blindboyboatclub.bsky.social podcast this week. Might be my favourite live one yet; I could listen Debs Newbold telling stories all day. For me, as a DM always trying to improve my storytelling, she's an inspiration. Give it a listen, if only for her hare story.

Season 5: Assembling the TOS crew The pair of showrunners confirmed with THR that they have already broken down the six episodes planned for season 5, which should begin production by the end of this year. Akiva Goldsman has already indicated in his TrekMovie interview that they plan to end the series (in season 5) by showing James T. Kirkβs first day in command of the USS Enterprise. And the show already has much of Kirkβs crew cast, especially with the addition of Scotty (Martin Quinn) in season 3. There are still some key characters missing, including Dr. McCoy, Sulu, and Chekov (who didnβt show up until season 2 of TOS). In his TrekMovie interview, Goldsman noted he sees the start of TOS as βWhere No Man Has Gone Before.β He elaborated to THR how that impacts the way they will be introducing more members of Kirkβs crew:
I'm calling it now, Star Trek SNW will close with Sulu on the helm asking Kirk, "Course and speed, sir?" and Kirk says, "Second star to the right. And straight on 'til morning."

I spotted you on there! There's a few interesting revelations on that wall.
Admiral Harry Kim! He finally got a promotion.
Lt. Nog is disappointing, I always thought he would have made Captain, at least.
Lt.JG Wesley Crusher? Canon confirmation that he returned to Starfleet after Journey's End.
@blindboyboatclub.bsky.social absolutely shat myself at the Attempted Seagull Pause, but quickly recovered at the sound of you unable to contain your laughter. π
Been working on a nasty new spell and a trap designed for magic users. No artwork to go with them yet, though; haven't gotten to that stage yet and I'm honestly not sure what I'm going to use to illustrate the spell.
Congratulations! Welcome to the UK! I hope everything works out for you.
Can't use paper on the fly at work. And it's not as easy to fix mistakes.
