You know what's fun? When the slightest chuckle makes you cough insanely until it feels like you're pinballing razors in your chest.

Wait, no. That's no fun at all.

In a sea of rejections, getting a "we've passed it up to our senior edits" email for a short story is a nice change.
New challenger approaching: lamp with lampshadeβ¦in an upshot.
I used to play 'spot the british artists' when Ice cream comes into play in an american comic.
Does it have a flake bar stuck into it? British artist.
Writer me always tortures artist me by putting all this shit in the script I need to learn how to draw.
One day, artist me will have his revenge.
Sad part it was a reputable mag for a while (and since it's been gone for a while, I can divulge it was ARES magazine), and the editor who took it was fired without them telling me, so I don't blame her.
But the debacle was such a blow to my spirit. Still trying to find a home for the story.
Ack, and I'm trying to draw a door right now!!!
(thankfully, in the next panel, it's smashed)
Ooh, you're in for a ride.
But I should also recommend Russel's 'Lair of the White Worm'!
Ooh, the weirdo who gave me a laundry list of weird feet tickling stuff they wanted to have drawn and then balked when I brought up the subject of money.
Does the magazine that accepted a story of mine and promising me $500 for it, then ghosting me, then vanishing count?
Horses. Buildings. Guns. Anatomy. Horses. Technology. Household items. Horses. Ancient armor. Rocky landscapes. Horses. Wristwatches. Alternate spectrums of vision.

Did I mention horses?
So her boss, who we assumed was a Mantian Marshunter, was actually a Martian Manhunter.
Go figure.
My wife and I started watching the Supergirl show, which allows me to dump a lot of comics trivia whenever she goes "wait, whats that?"
You might be able to set that to Darude's 'Sandstorm'
I'm not sure book-wise, but sales for my novella 'Cove of the Fisherman's Wife' would suggest people dig tentacles.
Outside of that, I still have people telling me they liked the adaptation of my short story for Love, Death and Robots, so that's always fun!

What other band has songs whose place in continuity is argued and questioned?
Thats comic book fanboy candy right there.
(IMO, DoYaThang is canon to me)
Holy heck, how did I end up with 7,400 followers here?
I reallly appreciate it, and I hope my ramblings can brighten your day.
You know, the big failing of Garfield is that we dont know much about his character. I mean, what does he like? What foods are his favorites? How does he feel about certain days of the week. What his relationship with small animals like spiders.
I wish any of the comics addressed these...
I prefer a simple 'nope, but thanks' over nothing. It also helps me keeping track of my work, as my scattered brain has trouble enough as it is even with the Submissions Grinder.
You can measure the level of fantasy vs sci fi on the lenght of Karl Urban's beard.

I have books.
every single one of these books (except for the newest, which is still in preorder) have earned out in print and ebook. I'd love to hit the list on the Feywild Job, though! That's the D&D nested heist book about how a bard and a warlock have to mend an old hurt to do one last job

Cover for the short story collection Rage from a Cage by Joachim Heijndermans, the title in thick bold lettering. On a white background, marred with scratches and damage, is a set of black shapes of triangles and trapazoids, who together form a broken pentagon. Within the middle shapes is the skull from a sabre-toothed cat, its maw open and the broken pentagon appearing as the bar of a cage. The animal is snarling for freedom.
Thanks for the boost. Last year, I released my 3rd short story collection "Rage from a Cage", 30 angry short stories for angry times.

But now I need to find that dutch comic where the Dad wants to talk about elvis to his kids and they feign ignorance to drive him nuts.
Pehaps. I do think Buttercup and Ace still remained in contact after his parole and her support led to his leap to music.
