While we're at it's since it's been a minute since l've posted one of these reminders: If you offer someone an alcoholic beverage this season (or really anytime) and they decline? You MAY offer them a nonalcoholic beverage instead. You MAY NOT say "Oh come on, it's just one." Or "It's the holidays, lighten up and get in the mood." Or "I made these just for the party, you can't even taste the alcohol!" Or "What are you the DD tonight?" No one owes you an explanation for their sobriety. No one needs to consume alcohol to exist in a space. No one's needs to consume alcohol for your friendship and the camaraderie of their community. Even if it's someone you KNOW drinks regularly, drop it. The holidays can be triggering enough for folks. No one needs to be harassed and abused because they choose to be sober for a night, a weekend, or a lifetime.

Just a little holiday PSA.
