Hopefully it’ll be like Alaska. They announced today they got no bids on the first Cook Inlet lease sale required under the OBBBA.

This may be the only place to weigh in on the proposed alternatives since they aren’t doing the usual comment period after the environmental impact analysis. Makes no sense.
the public won’t have the chance to comment in the DEIS or weigh in on the alternatives with the benefit of that analysis. www.boem.gov/newsroom/pre...
They’ve posted another comment opportunity that’s probably more relevant. It’s their intent to do a DEIS and seeking input for analysis of the alternatives. It’s following the new NEPA.
I get how all the process layers came to be, but it makes it damn hard to be an active participant. It’s been my job for years and the ways they’re doing it differently now are constantly confusing me. Comment!
Yep - they are working ahead of finalizing the next leading program. This is gathering info for the Southern & Central CA planning areas to shape what they would offer for leases. But, you know, they haven’t made final decisions on the plan and we shouldn’t assume they have. 🤦♀️
Exactly! I’m holding fast to anything that helps convey connection, tone, and cadence. My comms folks love/hate me.
Same
Very fortunate. Would have loved the chance to talk through the current chaos with him. I’ve thought a lot lately about his admonition to never forget the service in public service. We aren’t seeing nearly enough servant leadership right now.
So grateful to have had the chance to study with David Gergen about how to demand more from the institutions in our lives and deliver more for our communities. May his memory be a blessing.
So many came together over to make clear to Congress that our public lands are not an offset for corporate tax breaks. Hikers, bikers, hunters, birders, communities that depend on the outdoor economy, conservationists, water authorities that want drinking water. Thank you!
🌳🏕️🏜️🗻 Selling off public lands was an absurd idea. Glad the provision has been pulled.
Thanks! That’s a lot and it focuses on the biggest accounts. It’ll be higher when factoring in infrastructure, safety, and environmental programs. Can’t imagine states being able to cover.
@kimberlyadams.bsky.social On today’s Make Me Smart you mentioned a study that looked at how much revenue states old need to raise to cover the gap from proposed cuts to federal pass through. Can you please share the reference?
I really want that to be intentional 🦖
There’s still ice cream
And the Fisheries Service, Ocean Service, Environmental Satellite Data & Information Service. Super well.
The rules no longer apply
It was really something once upon a time.
After being bombarded by the most vile anti-semitic posts and dms over there it took me a while to wade back in. I missed the good people!
hi!
Great tip - thanks!
Yeah - was missing the bike chatter
