When I was at GoPro, one of my mentors was the Dir of Eng. His background was a Software Architect. He said this to me, βYou think that the value you bring is your ideas. But really your value is that the way you work, your research activities bring people together.β Research is a team sport.
Yes.
My ultimate goal is to con people who are smarter than I am to collab on stuff; @thezachj.bsky.social is one of those people π¨βπ»π
Updated new favorite: schedule-send messages
Ok whatβs your favorite iOS update in this moment (because it will change) mine is the ability to bold/italicize/underline/strikeout words in iMessage β€οΈβπ₯
As I continue to examine my addictive tech tendencies, Iβve found that once I eliminate one, I replace with the next, in this order:
Short form vid content β‘οΈ Reddit doom threads β‘οΈ NYT games β‘οΈ Bluesky

I created a web accessibility and inclusion starter pack. Comment with your favourite accessibility folks, and I'll add them to the list. #a11y

About 24 hours into using @bsky.app and itβs been delightful soβ
Tweet that says I still think my favorite thing that's ever happened to me on the internet is the time a guy said people change their minds when you show them facts and I said actually studies show that's not true and linked two sources and he said yeah well I still think it works
user research in a nutshell
As an OT, I had to understand 1 EMR system that rarely changed, and a handful of tools (physical devices or written assessments) that had not changed in 30+ years.
Now, as a UX researcher and a11y professional on a small team, I use 20+ software products that get upgrades constantly. I am π

The thing that really differentiates Bluesky is that it doesnβt feel like it was designed by a bunch of people who will lose their jobs if I spend a little less time on Bluesky.
