That would require Farage to actually shut up for once. There’s not an hour that goes by when he’s not holding a press conference, recording a video while pointing at boats, or giving his unwanted opinions to a pack of misty-eyed BBC journalists

Peston can’t compete with Justin “Trump is making American normal again” Webb. Absolute clown

“Why Nigel Farage gargling Trump’s balls and completely misreading the mood of the nation spells disaster for Keir Starmer and Labour”

Would anyone make a difference at this stage though? Spurs look dreadful this season whoever is in charge (and appear to be getting worse)

I grew up in Sheffield around Wedneaday fans so I have a lot of sympathy for Wednesdayites - they have suffered a lot. Spurs I have zero against (ditto Baggies) they just look appalling right now. After all the breakaway European Super League nonsense it would be quite funny if Spurs went down tho

I would also have said Leiceater but last time I looked they were winning and had scored two goals, which we rarely did under Manning

My current way of deciding how bad a football team is playing is asking myself “do they look like Norwich under Liam Manning?”

Current list of teams as bad, or worse, than NCFC under Liam Manning:

Spurs
Burnley
West Brom

Wedneaday get a pass as it’s a cobbled together team of kids and loan kids

Honestly, she has always done my head in but she has got worse. She was trying to justify Farage schoolboy fascism by saying “we all do stupid things when we’re young”. Yes but that’s usually drink and drugs bot Hitler Youth songs and jokes to Jewish kids about gas chambers. Appalling

The same rubes who think Donald Trump, who dodged the draft five times, knows how to win a war are the same rubes who think Donald Trump, who declared bankruptcy six times, knows how to run an economy.

This is what Trump Derangement Syndrome truly looks like.

Elements of the British press really do have a colossal boner for the idea of following demented Donald and his band of bloodthirsty, genocidal freaks into an illegal and unjustified war. It’s insane on so many levels, not least because said war is hugely unpopular (and rightly so)

So “corrupt crooks join party of corrupt crooks” basically. Probably well suited to the party of grifters, charlatans and swivel-eyed loons

100%. He barely cares about his kids, if at all, and we know what Melania thinks about him (though she is just as bad in other ways)

There’s a definite order to things he cares about:
1. Himself and doing whatever he pleases whenever he pleases, however criminal or repulsive
2. His bank balance
3. His family’s bank balances
4. His donors’ bank balances
5. Retaining power as long as possible so he can keep focusing on the above

My brother’s mother in law. That and the Telegraph have fully radicalised her (she was previously a more one nation type Tory). You can imagine the “fun”my brother had trying to keep me and her from killing each other on Christmas Day 😂 I tried to ignore her sniping but eventually lost it

It was to be fair. Can’t grumble
on that score. Surprised England got as close as they did even if the pitch was a road

Ridiculous that Sanju Samson won MOTM in that #T20 semi-final - what made the difference on a road / insanely high scoring match was the bowling of Bumrah. Plus someone else in the match actually got a century in tougher circumstances albeit in a losing cause

Kemi Badenoch: “That’s not the question I asked. I don’t care about stranded Brits, I just want to grandstand and try and blame military cuts on anyone other than the government I served in while making it obvious that I would follow Donald Trump to hell and pay for the privilege”

05.03.2026 15:23 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Even if they did (suspend your disbelief), who could blame them? Goodwhinge was spouting appalling rhetoric about how they aren’t British (even though they clearly are) and should be deported. He was lucky to get away with a staring!

05.03.2026 15:18 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

He’s such a aelf-absorbed cretin. If he was genuinely serious about being elected, he’d need to be less of an obnoxious arse with repulsive views - views that alienate all bar the most radicalised racist bigots and permanently online nutters. Zero surprise that the electorate said “no, thanks!”

Oh yeah, fun game. I don’t need the tv coverage to look like it though. Bah humbug!

05.03.2026 13:38 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Speaking of the TV coverage of this tournament, they’ve really made it look like a video game with graphics like the pointless “skill scale”. It’s like stick cricket with humans

05.03.2026 13:31 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

It’s also helpful for relegated teams - they can start slowly, scrape seventh or eighth after a run in the spring, and stroll through the play-offs

05.03.2026 13:29 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

It’s a start. They may tweak it in future. Reminds me of the Rugby League Super League play-offs in structure (except there are no two-leg ties in that). That can go both ways - ie teams with the rest week either benefit from the rest or lose all momentum

05.03.2026 13:28 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

The ICC television coverage of any games involving India is hilariously one-eyed. The build up barely mentions who they are playing. Looks like England today you’d never know from the coverage

In “selfish wealthy tools not reading the room” news, the most predictable story ever. I hope they get clobbered by HMRC

05.03.2026 13:21 👍 3 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Well, the extra round looks like it is structured like that - ie teams 5 to 8 play one knock out game at the home ground of the highest placed team (5 v 8, 6 v 7) before the two-leg semis. Time basically the national league play off format I think

Quote from the FT article: the rich “really value the ability to move and work wherever they want, when they want”

Quote from the FT article: the rich “really value the ability to move and work wherever they want, when they want”

How predictable. This quote made me laugh. The rich still have the “ability to move and work wherever they want”, what they really value is paying zero tax and contributing sod all - unlike the rest of us. Selfish parasites who often expect us, via government contracts, to subside them

He’ll probably also play street cricket and take in an IPL game

No surprise from that colossal whopper Ant Middleton, one of the worst specimens the UK has produced in recent times. With all of his SAS training he can just sod off into the desert and bunker down in a hole in the ground for a bit, presumably while clutching suitcases full of his untaxed wealth

It is heartening to see. I’ve heard two interviewees with Dubai-based Brits today - one said “me, my uk based dad and my partner think we are still safer here than we would be in the UK”. Really? The other claimed he did in fact pay tax in the UK… why go then?
