I bid adieu to cable news more than 15 years ago (beyond election nights) -- but Tapper *used to be* the best of a bad lot... meaning, in the last 15 years, his show was one where he at least asked serious - fair - questions and I might occasionally flip channels to it.
It's all infotainment now.

This seems particularly ominous for Q2... The Atlanta Fed's nowcast model didn't start flashing red until the first week of March. Bouncy as any nowcast model will be - it's been settled into a decidedly negative range for a couple months now.
