My wife just started her querying journey and I am helping her out with it! Her novel is rather long at 115k, sapphic fantasy set in Central Asia. Would the word count be something you’d worry about? Or is that within a range that agents of fantasy find acceptable if they like the query/pages?

The problem with this, though, is that ultimately they are teenagers and want the easiest way out. Plus, that essay needs to be written eventually—so even though it is a good activity, those kids are still going to go back to generative AI to do the heavy lifting for their writing anyway…
