The only book my ex-husband ever gave me was this, around the time of our divorce. I never read it. Just now looked up the synopsis. Had I realized his message to me in that “gift” was that I could never be free & should drown myself, I’d have been absolute living rage & hung him out to dry.

I used to teach a functional skills class. I brought in white cotton t-shirts. Each kid got to use assorted condiments to stain them. Then we experimented to see what did the best job of removing mustard, ketchup, jelly, choc sauce. The most consistent was dish soap & white vinegar on damp stain.

I love Lower Decks, too. It is easy to disregard cartoons as what they are, less so for live characterizations we can imagine as ourselves or loved ones.
What if—and hear me out—middle- to old- aged men are not the target audience for this show? What if it is meant to pull in a new, younger audience, who will relate to the new and then explore the old? Keep the franchise going when you’re dead? Bring some new colors of hair to the cons?

Yeah, same. Just thought I’d share what I found when I tried to answer that question myself. I watch WHMS every winter break, sometimes on a loop. Ultimately the connections I made were immature, maybe dangerous posturing (tracks 1942/now) and potential for death (also tracks 1942/now).
