7-cont) Berchimas is a HIGHLY regarded USYNT player and really should be getting time with Charlotte. he also might be getting sold to Bayern friggin Munich.
8) the point? when those players ball out (especially all at the same time), just tip your cap and move onto the next.

7) Crown might be extremely fun this year. Charlotte is on a 3 DP and 3U22 model with currently no flexibility to add.
Aloko is incredible. Allegedly a $4M transfer, parked at Crown for now.
Subotic & Uchegbu are allegedly about $2.5M between them.

5) there are days in this league where you can do a lot of things right and even well and youβre still gonna get beat. Just the nature of the beast.
6) up 1-0 with a big chance to make it 2 and couldnβt finish. game might look different if we score. happens. margins are small.

3) weβre obviously much more athletic than either of our previous two years in this league.
4) I liked what Crown created more than I liked what we created, but we kind of created a lot compared to our previous averages.

Gonna do some light analysis this AM, might do it consistently until we can record again.
1) getting beat 4-1 sucks, donβt recommend.
2) getting an early goal from a defensive takeaway is not brand new (see: Ibarra vs Crown last year), but its gonna be a key part for us in β26

How the USLβs expansion-first business model is breeding instability in American soccer
Clubs are folding at a breakneck pace, but the USL keeps cashing expansion fee checks.
The USL is expanding at a breakneck pace β and expansion fees stay at privately owned USL HQ.
USL teams are folding at a breakneck pace.
There's an incentive problem here.

doesnβt this essentially come down to whether or not the extra million in GAM from the 2+4 model makes up for actually doing the buy down here + any buy downs necessary to stay under the cap considering his DP charge is considerably less than it would be if not a DP?

because every dollar that goes back to the clubs from Tampa is a dollar not going to the next yacht.
Ten league one clubs failing just opens up ten more expansion opportunities at a higher price

USL does not feel the pain when a club fails. they already took the expansion cash, they already take the tv dollars.
itβs why theyβll sell the league off when the expansion money runs dry and leave the clubs to deal with the fallout/territory rights issues. not their problem on their second yacht

they are taking *much* longer in the lower divisions. weβre waiting way beyond last yearβs timeline this offseason, plus read an article from Fort Wayne who say theyβve been waiting since late November for a few.

the key's in USLP. they're going to sell d1 expansion slots for dimes compared to MLS & call it a bargain to unsuspecting investors, while getting prepped to pull the ripcord and sell out when the expansion fee income dries up.
what's after for clubs? pray there's no one else with territory rights.

also.. this is the USL! Pittsburgh* will probably put 20 guys on 2000 a month plus housing, hold 42% possession, and still manage to finish ahead in the table.

the actual USL nerds will have a better idea once we get going, but I would pay close attention to the avg age of the playing XI and whether they seem to stay at peak or post peak for the majority of the season.

the other side of this is that Lexington have basically guaranteed themselves to be the main character in USL this year given the salaries + transfer fees producing a spectacularly high squad cost.
win anything? "you bought it"
fail to win the shield with most expensive roster ever.... oof.

one of the things i really like about Taylorβs game is how heβs evolved it from when he first broke onto the scene. from 8 goals and 2 assists in 2022 in all comps to 4 goals and 8 assists in 2024, heβs really rounded out well.
I can already see a couple Tolie β> Gray big switches into spaceβ¦

Gray is a really solid attacking piece, flexible enough to hold down either wing spot and stellar as a creator without sacrificing his defensive effort. Yet another nice add for this Tormenta team.
