USL does not feel the pain when a club fails. they already took the expansion cash, they already take the tv dollars.
it’s why they’ll sell the league off when the expansion money runs dry and leave the clubs to deal with the fallout/territory rights issues. not their problem on their second yacht
they are taking *much* longer in the lower divisions. we’re waiting way beyond last year’s timeline this offseason, plus read an article from Fort Wayne who say they’ve been waiting since late November for a few.

the key's in USLP. they're going to sell d1 expansion slots for dimes compared to MLS & call it a bargain to unsuspecting investors, while getting prepped to pull the ripcord and sell out when the expansion fee income dries up.
what's after for clubs? pray there's no one else with territory rights.
also.. this is the USL! Pittsburgh* will probably put 20 guys on 2000 a month plus housing, hold 42% possession, and still manage to finish ahead in the table.

the actual USL nerds will have a better idea once we get going, but I would pay close attention to the avg age of the playing XI and whether they seem to stay at peak or post peak for the majority of the season.

the other side of this is that Lexington have basically guaranteed themselves to be the main character in USL this year given the salaries + transfer fees producing a spectacularly high squad cost.

one of the things i really like about Taylor’s game is how he’s evolved it from when he first broke onto the scene. from 8 goals and 2 assists in 2022 in all comps to 4 goals and 8 assists in 2024, he’s really rounded out well.
I can already see a couple Tolie —> Gray big switches into space…
Gray is a really solid attacking piece, flexible enough to hold down either wing spot and stellar as a creator without sacrificing his defensive effort. Yet another nice add for this Tormenta team.
I meant immediately as in when the CBA first came out. I wonder what's different/same in the standard Next Pro agreement -- I know our medicals got way more intense than before.
