I heard the “plan” once described as analogous to Canada invading the US with Mexico coming in saying “OK, why doesn’t everyone go back to either side of the Ohio River”

Just patently absurd—both in terms of the ruse and in thinking Eisenhower would go for it

So no, not dumber—but they’re trying!

If it's not Pew, or Gallup, NYT, etc--you should be reflexively skeptical of topline results from one-off polls

That is not to say you should outright dismiss the findings, but be sure you dig into the methodology. Lack of transparency is a BIG 🚩

To their credit, JTA is clear about the limitations

We're in uncharted territory- if WTI crude holds these gains tomorrow- the current rise of 29.9% or $27.16/bbl would be its largest single day price jump- in both percent and amount- ever. Ever. EVER.

EXCLUSIVE: I’m the Palestinian Who Has Been in ICE Detention for Almost a Year Don't forget us on International Women's Day, writes Leqaa Kordia.

Leqaa Kordia, in her own words, for @zeteo.com.

Leqaa should be free. Her captors, and whichever outside organization collaborated with them, should be the ones in cages.

Really useful to see the evolution of power projection over time. The expansion and retrenchment, the shifting theaters--fascinating stuff.

Iraq's first lady, Shanaz Ibrahim Ahmed, a political/humanitarian figure from a prominent (& very political) Sulimaniyah-rooted Kurdish family closely tied to the PUK, coming in hot with a free history lesson for people who think Iraqi Kurds might be unquestioningly game for more US bait-and-switch.

Yeah, didn't think of that. The crypto lobbies coupled with those from sports gambling and betting markets must have an absolute stranglehold on the GOP.

Still, Dems would be well-served at least shining a light on the generational damage these on-demand slot machines are doing.

This genuinely seems like it should be a bipartisan issue. I mean, I realize these companies have deep pockets, but they immiserate such large, cross-cutting swaths of the population.

It's a pretty high bar to clear, but I think this may just be the most Islamophobic election cycle in US history

FWIW the most insidious part in this clip is not the cartoonish AI slop, but the opening scene that merely shows two girls in hijab going to school

This was never about "sharia"
