in the end i like to think she lived for her, & for everyone else who placed their trust in the warrior of light. there is a very specific kind of anguish that yesha feels when looking back at the bloody banquet, all centered around "what ifs". it took her way too long to forgive herself for that.
that happened to her, and mourn the person she was before & after the betrayal in ul'dah. minfilia's loss hurt most of all — that was her first love, one-sided & unspoken as it was. she would have died for minfilia if she was given a choice. she would not have hesitated.
they are shaped by duty & loss. the bloody banquet is a huge blow to yesha's emotional and mental armor. & yet her instinct is to keep moving. it is a kind of quiet endurance that estinien knows so well. after a series of small victories is when yesha finally allowed herself to sit with everything —
moments of weakness came when she was on her own, with no one there to see it. this is why she connected so well with estinien, why he saw through her facade of calm & strength as a mask barely hanging on by a thread. both of them know what it's like to be outsiders, to be hunted fugitives.
she didn't really allow herself to fully succumb to grief & rage until well into the events of heavensward. there was alphinaud & tataru to protect, help to solicit, & strength to muster. someone had to keep going. *she* had to keep going. she owed it to the scions to survive & reveal the truth.
yesha is good in high-stakes/high-pressure situations, so she was calm & strategic during the heat of the moment. escape was priority, everything else was a problem for later. what chipped at her composure was having to leave behind her companions, not knowing if they will be okay.
"erenville is a boring character" have you considered, sharon, that his role in the narrative is as a grounded observer, providing contrast and realism? that he is our cultural bridge to tural and his emotional restraint is meant to act as the story's anchor?
or are you stupid? 🙄
😭😭😭
yesha's pain tolerance is quite high these days but it wasn't always that way. as is the case with all skills, this is something that developed and evolved over time.
holy shit the voice acting in resident evil 9 goes crazy

crying over something stupid (i am sooooooo sleep deprived)
being okay with using smth that steals data from others while not wanting your own data to be stolen is the epitome of hypocrisy. it's genuinely quite sad.
my boss being like "let's use AI to simplify content creation" and then also being like "let's stop using these meeting notetakers because their AI is likely stealing data from us" like HOW DO YOU THINK THIS WORKS MA'AM??? how do you think this works across the board???
kill the imposter syndrome in you head because not only is there someone out there doing it worse than you, they're also using chat gpt to do it
Anyways.
hey so i'm afraid we're still going
that's enough encouragement for me
faramir describing éowyn’s suicidal unrequited love of aragorn as “as a great captain may to a young soldier, he seemed to you admirable” is truly the all timer example of het where you’re not sure if that comment was a little gay of him or a little trans of her or both
