Was on Reddit a while ago already. There are options, the closest probably XigmaNAS but it doesn't have as polished a look.

Will probably require a new battery but those are bound to be available. Oh, and keep an eye on that thing while it charges, old batteries getting topped up for the first time in a long time can be mighty sketchy and potentially explodey.
Hope it's a great event, enjoy!
Sorry I missed it, those pesky time zones. I hope you're doing well, or (like all of us) as well as life permits at any rate.
I just didn't get it because PvP the way Bungie does it just enrages me. With 0.5 second TTK, people have no choice in this except maximum aggression. I also don't like games where serial dying is part of the experience, especially against people, it's really bad for the mentals imo.
That's not internet connected, that's something broadcasting wifi locally. It would be exceedingly hard to hack my HA through my firewall with no open ports, and the Zigbee devices may be vulnerable to local hacks but hacking them would get you nothing, they're not themselves on the Internet.
READY. MARATHON. LET'S PLAY!

The issue is rather that people are morons (with apologies to your dad who I'm sure is wise about other things). People believe that an overgrown calculator like an LLM is an authoritative source on anything. It's been shown already that people disengage their brains and start relying on this crap.
With a Home Assistant setup, nothing is accessible from the outside unless you open it up. But of course things can still happen. An electrical device can fail disastrously. Hacking should not be a thing though, when that happens it's usually the owner who made mistakes with data security.
The way Pi prices have been going, if you roll your own HA setup you may as well start with a cheap Mini PC that comes with a real SSD and better performance.
This whole question seems like bait. The benefits of automation are in the word. It's automated. Things happen automatically. The home adapts to you, not the other way around. I prefer fully local control, some don't mind cloud.

Welp, Twitch viewing is going to be minimal for the next couple of weeks or however long it takes people to get over Marathon.
Yeah there is that. I mean, not holding my breath, but one can hope. Video was good though, sponsored or not. Nothing about it made me want to play but I'm not a PvP main.
Well, on the positive side, I'm wasting a lot less time on Twitch starting now, what with it being wall to wall Marathon. Oh well, I don't expect it to last too too long, fortunately (I don't find it interesting to watch or play). 40 bucks is not too too bad, though. Shoulda been free tbh.
On a side note I (re)installed Manjaro Linux on my HTPC this evening... took an hour, absolutely glass smooth installation process, and the latest KDE looks better than ever. Time to format my gaming rig too and leave Microsoft and Apple behind.
I just can't with the Apple lock-in. I used to be an iPhone user but that was years and years ago now. Android just suits me better. Sure, Google is screwing with that too but at least the lock-in is nowhere near as bad. You do lose some of that superb ecosystem integration Apple does well.
Kind of shocking that Apple would be that ham fisted with visuals. It doesn't look like something hard to spot for QA either.
It's funny, I installed Manjaro and while I was unused to it, everything worked very well. Then because reasons I needed to do a fresh install and figured I'd use Fedora KDE since that was "less bleeding edge". I then had massive annoyances that never existed in Manjaro. Switched back, all is good.
Stunning as always.

Contrasts can enhance each other for sure. Engage more taste buds at once.
I've had nightmares like this. I load up my Twitch page and literally every streamer is just Marathon, Marathon, Marathon π
Probably going to be a good weekend to get some things done around the house, all the streamers are on Marathon and I don't want to watch that stuff.
Well, I watched 15 minutes of #Marathon - yep, can confirm I have zero interest in the game still. I hope things work out for Bungie with it, but honestly I'd be shocked if it is anything but a lukewarm also-ran of an extraction shooter.

These laws seek to ban more than 3D printing, they also want home CNC and stuff like that stepped on. It's all pretty crazy, considering there's already 400 000 000 guns in civilian circulation in America. It's not hard to get a gun. Kids can get guns in America.
