Is their truth to the middle ground fallacy? Of course. The Missouri Compromise was a disaster that directly contributed to the Civil War breaking out.

But in general, most people use it as a way to justify their hatred and lash out against those who question it.

The thing is that 90% of issues on earth aren't remotely black and white. Have fun eating either cereal OR milk, because one of those things is unforgivabley terrible, so pick a side!

If we as a society get to pick and choose who deserves happiness, then assholes may decide innocent people are excluded too. Its better for a jerk to feel happy than a decent person to feel miserable.

As such, I hope it doesn't feel vapid when I say you deserve to feel happy too, whoever you are :)

Don't let anyone make you feel like an awful person because you can't bring yourself to hate something. Hate has it's place, but love is NEVER an incorrect awnser. You don't have to always fight fire with fire, so long as you don't side with fire in place of what it's burning.
