This isn't Caritas Vera. This is just another thing I was working on slowly.

I'm in a weird state of do I publish this 37k word story to AO3 or do I test the waters and try to publish it on Amazon or something. I want to try, I really do but I'm just so terrified.

I know I should do it scared but this is a level of scared that I'm not sure that I can handle lol

I'm been working on an original piece that isn't Caritas Vera with the intention of posting it on AO3. But this thing is almost 20k words. I feel like...at this point I should just clean it up and publish it? I don't know. It just feels too big for an original piece on AO3...

And Caritas Vera (both the main and misc stories) took up half of that. I don't know what possessed me. SOMETHING did. I think that vacation I took in August to visit my friend helped a lot. It refreshed me and I needed that.

I'm a bit behind on this thread. Why? Because I apparently didn't write jack shit for the girls in July. I'm sure if I scour bsky for my messages, I'll see the reason as to why. But y'know what? That's okay. Because I wrote 40k in the month of September.

Making no progress on this today. $100/$350 still and it’s due Wednesday

Due to the sensitive topics (ie. sexual assault and a few other things), I want to be careful and respectful to them. Caritas Vera will take me years but it's not something I'm upset or even frustrated about. I know the kind of story I want to tell.

Mind you, I always planned on doing research for many parts of my story. But I wanted to at least get the bare bones of if out of the way. Then when I did my multiple edits/rewrites, make the changes that need to be done. This isn't a story that will be finished in one or two years.

It's been fun exploring her life and personality before she met her husband. How she struggled with the major her family picked for her, how she wants to pursue art, etc etc. It has also forced me to do some early research on certain things.

I almost feel like I've given up on the actual writing thread for Caritas Vera, but since I don't do much on this account (laziness), I think it's obvious when I'm talking about it lol

But I have today and tomorrow to keep writing about this story, and I've been having fun writing about Mia's mom.

I rarely get affected by the AO3 blackouts because whenever they're down, I'm usually working or sleeping. Sometimes I wake up to see panics about it being down and I'm like ???

I sent in my own comment, I recommend others do so as well. I joined bluesky to follow other artists and showcase my work. If i decide to dabble into miniatures that depict nudity, or continue to work with miniatures that depict violence/war, I'd also potentially be in violation of the new policy.

I'm not disappointed in the progress I made in Caritas Vera this month. Since I worked from home this week, I managed to hit 2k quite a few times. I'm also telling myself that this is not a linear journey. Writing a book isn't linear at all and it'll take me YEARS to finish this story.

Maybe I'll write more about them. Like, write something about Mia's mom before she meets her husband or Sai's life before they met Mia. They have their own tragic backstory, but I never fleshed it out properly.
