I think this boils down to people asking the right questions. conservatives always think there is corruption in social programs - and there is a small amount (same as everything else). But they aren’t interested in cost effectiveness - which is why we are where we are. IMO anyway.
I remember an article I read years ago about a homeless person that was costing somewhere around $1m/year between emergency room visits, police and first responder interventions, jail time for minor drug infractions , etc. insanity!
And the real economic kicker is it would be more cost effective to help the mom out.

Yeah Trump donated his salary to various causes but he siphoned millions of dollars from taxpayers into his businesses during his tenure as president. He also made millions from foreign governments. Biden did not enrich himself on the backs of taxpayers. That’s BS.

Not true! GOP did a great job of getting us into a war and a stellar recession. And lest we not forget, they also managed to get rid of reproduction rights for women in addition to creating one of the worst SCOTUS in history.
I think we lost because everyone wants change from status quo. Much easier to criticize than to actually get things done. GOP is about to learn that.
