I recently learned that Regex parsing is just a graph traversal problem and it's like everything is just a graph traversal problem.

These people act like lucene hasn't existed for 30 years. Even before LLMs, we've had machine learning techniques for text based data for decades.

This is why in software, things are moving towards generating 100% of code with AI models. The people in charge of these organizations aren't programmers. They already have a relationship to software that is basically trusting it without review.

I agree but the argument I've heard is if renewables and batteries get widespread enough this doesn't even matter. If your locality isn't generating, you have your own improving storage and then generation from other regions.

There will be development in nuclear technology but the current math is 10 years of investment and construction vs buying land and slapping down some solar panels. I'm not opposed to nuclear on any idealogical grounds the math on solar is just getting astounding.

Yeah even the nuclear argument doesn't make sense anymore when you can scale solar investment instantly and batteries are getting better and cheaper rapidly.

I know people who drive out of their way for cheaper gas, but this crisis is going to go so far beyond that. Plane tickets have already doubled in price and everything is going to get more expensive because agricultural equipment and logistics networks rely on fuel to keep running.
