Today I saw an invitation to an event called "Tac O'Toosdy" for the 17th.

Why do I have two unopened, still-boxed bottles of eye drops on the floor to the side of my desk??

Hanes is my preferred brand (and I like that you can order it direct!) but I am annoyed by how easily the elastic bands unstitch themselves from the rest of the underwear.

Just too much trouble to fix myself w needle & thread and too little inconvenience to justify throwing away!

All this to say: YAY for people who let you know that you've accidentally made a six-figure request, and offer you a Plan B!

(He did change his mind, my management praised my email, and [staffer] thanked me later, saying she wouldn't even have had room to store a report that big!)

Nobody in my mgmt was around & he'd emphasized the absolute URGENCY of [staffer] getting those numbers. His request was unambiguous about what he wanted: detailed report, all everything, sent overnight, hard copy.

So I had, while agreeing, to make him realize it wasn't actually what he wanted!

I remember being told by a VP to generate a detailed report & send hard copies to a staffer at another facility.

I wrote the most tactful email of my life to say, "Absolutely, yes sir, but I can't send it Fedex Overnight because it will take 3 days to print & require 5 crates of printer paper."
