Always attach a task to them, particularly if it’s longer than 2/3mins. We do a few different tasks from short-answer questions, quick quizzes to transcript gap fills for the particular important ones

I agree with the comments about Time for Geography, they are excellent. Vox is great at A-Level

We have used it fairly successfully for getting students to develop explanations / evaluation. It’s been particularly useful for causes of development, and we have seen in an improvement in use of subject specific vocab and reference to relevant development indicators
