to steam you only need to boil like an inch of water, enough to not boil dry in 12 minutes, not a lot of water! (And you could kick start that with your electric kettle.)

That said, I’m glad the instant pot is working out for you for your eggs

I did hard cooked eggs in the instant pot for a while and switched to 12min in a steamer over briskly boiling water, followed by a cold bath. It’s been super reliable and ease of peeling went way up (also true in the instant pot)
