lol Nolensville looks as if it was designed by the cars in Pixar’s Cars movies. No infrastructure there is designed for humans unless said humans are inside of cars, parking cars, washing cars, or eating in cars. The children there making everyone nuts with their e-bikes is just so perfect.

Is there a market for Normal Volume Spas? No loud music or noise, but no people telling you to be quiet, either, as long as you’re not right next to the massage rooms. Maybe there are dedicated saunas for gossip and cackling far from the quiet saunas. Rage rooms next to the loud jetted pools? 🤔

In our defense this was a very large open spa with a big indoor pool constructed out of rock. It’s basically an echo chamber. Anyway, I’m still embarrassed that a probably 19 year old kid had to call me ma’am and shush me while I was paying to sit neck deep in freezing water.

Friends & I got reprimanded about five times by spa attendants at a fancy place in NC. We’d be stage whisper bellowing ©️ in the cold plunge pool, or while sitting under these very robust cascades in the waterfall pools. “I’m glad you’re enjoying yourselves, but please maintain a tranquil spa volume”

Bonkers that we don’t have pediatric urgent care clinics all over town & why in the world don’t we have lots of evening & weekend well-child/immunization clinics? My dream: “wellness” spas/chiropractic offices can only rent medical office space if there is already a peds urgent care in the vicinity

My school district is being forced to lay off several educators and a librarian because of a $500,000 budget gap, or roughly the amount spent on the war while I was typing this post.

I like this idea. The dog is the only permanent legal resident of the White House. He has a bedroom, assistants, bodyguards & the highest security clearance.

I wish the stadium lobby & the tunnel people had tried to ram both shitty projects through at the same time. Welcome to Nashville, home of Boring Tunnel Stadium ‘N Sports Betting. Oops stadium is sinking into the tunnel—can we sell this as a basement stadium? Hmmm that’s a lot of water though hmm

Last week the city opened $30/hour snow clearing jobs and they filled fast.
Now what if we had a municipal jobs guarantee? Livable wages. Union benefits. Stronger communities.

Helsinki just went a full year without a single traffic death
The capital city is Finnish’ed with car-related fatalities.
“Helsinki hasn’t registered a single traffic-related fatality in the past year…Citing data that shows the risk of pedestrian fatality is cut in half by reducing a car’s speed from 40 to 30km/hr, city officials imposed the lower limit in most of Helsinki’s residential areas and city center in 2021.”

Stop pre-negotiating. Stop telling voters they have to sacrifice minorities and the marginalized to have a chance of winning. Stop telling voters to settle, to not ask for everything, to be reasonable. Don't be reasonable. Demand the world. The world belongs to us. They don't have more right to it.

Did everyone in have GERD (and incipient liver disease) in the 70s? The thought of a bottle of wine and cups of black coffee with almost no food is making me look for my famotidine, Jesus. I have sympathetic nausea

Heads up folks: @thetnholler.bsky.social posted an AI-generated video this morning that was a deepfake of the captain of the U.S. women’s hockey team, and they seem to be promoting it as if it’s a real video. So watch out for that and don’t spread fakes.

Circa 2010 my husband wanted to make a photography book of all of the Mrs. Winner’s and whatever they turned into. It was usually payday loan places, and that was too depressing. My favorite is the luxury used car lot in Brentwood. Paint it all you want, y’all, there’s no mistaking that roofline.

This makes no sense, this is impossible. Everybody knows that when a politician attempts a coup, you do a little grandstanding and then do nothing for years and then the coup guy gets to be in charge. That's just the way it WORKS

Tennessee said yes to ICE—and turned into a deportation state
How the feds worked with state troopers to terrorize Nashville’s immigrants.
There's video of ICE doing a massive operation with Tennessee state troopers—and making horrible comments as they go along.
I'm talking awful racial profiling and bad jokes like "The guacamole is never going to taste the same."
So much to dig into here: www.motherjones.com/politics/202...

A map that shows Tennessee Highway Patrol stops in relation to the areas of Davidson County with a significant percentage of Latino residents. Credit: Lighthouse Reports
As THP stopped drivers for primarily nonmoving violations, law enforcement teams seemingly raced each other to “hunt” and arrest the most immigrants, routinely releasing nonimmigrant offenders with minimal vetting. (3/11)

How ICE, THP targeted Nashville immigrants, inflated safety claims - Nashville Banner
Analysis shows Tennessee state troopers and ICE agents profiled and disparaged immigrants during Nashville enforcement operation in May 2025.
INVESTIGATION: Over the last 5 months, the Banner and a coalition of partners analyzed 52 hours of footage and thousands of pages of documents from a joint THP/ICE operation targeting Nashville’s predominantly immigrant neighborhoods. Here’s what we found: (1/11)
