it's been a lot of fun putting small additions to some of my review graphics like these two! trying to do a makeshift mesh gradient similar to the original calculation cover, and also adding those glowing red eyes to the monstrilio cover :)

for my next couple reviews i think i'll be experimenting with how a border would look :) right now i think this looks really fun

This was no miracle; there was no luck, no divinity. This was Santiago and me biting, jaws clenched, sucking life.

i'm hoping a pale view of hills will make for a more somber companion while still hitting similar notes.

anyway, monstrilio is the kind of quiet sadness that is ripping out little pieces of me with every chapter. it's melancholic but still gripping... a dark and strange ship of theseus experiment

a fourth into monstrilio. this is pretty much the only horror book i've read in the past 3 years, so i don't have much to say on how it compares to others in the genre

i was very tempted to pair monstrilio with frankenstein instead (a low hanging fruit), but [...]
