βWeβre under attack by a bunch of people whoβve never had dirt underneath their fingernails. People who have never swung a tool. People who know as much about the meaning of public service as they do about whoβs in their Signal group chat.β Sam Forstag - USFS Smokejumper

See that big pine? You own that tree, and billions of other trees on public lands. The trump kleptocracy will overharvest, mismanage, and steal our forests. Our land needs care from highly trained people, but they are being fired. We have to stop them. We need to force congress to act on our behalf.
Remember who your true enemies are.
The enemy is the fossil fuel industry.
The enemy is the billionaire who paid for right wing propaganda & misinformation.
The enemy is not your fellow working class people who fell for that misinformation.
When the working class tears itself apart, the rich win.
ICYMI: Whitebark pine in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem has been monitored by the NPS for over 20!!! years!
What have we learned?? A lot!
I co-wrote this report looking at the first 15 years of monitoring (data thru all 20 years forthcoming!): doi.org/10.36967/230...
So excited to announce (belatedly) my first peer-reviewed publication! From my MSc: landscape mgmt for struggling marten in the Great Lakes⦠plus posing a spicy question about whether we want to restore the exact species, or the role of the species to the land! Check it out: doi.org/10.1016/j.bi...
Reintroducing myself! I am a quantitative wildlife ecologist working alongside USFS/NPS for range-wide whitebark pine conservation and am a #uw-madison and #uidaho alum! Whitebark, martens, ungulates, felids, and genetics galore!
